CITB SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme) Site Safety Plus Course |
This course takes you through the fundamentals of health and safety and how the role of the supervisor fits with controlling site safety. At the end of the course you will be able to understand the need for method statements, communication routes, behavioural safety, supervision of occupational health as well as the accident reporting system.
This two day course is an ideal route for site staff, supervisors & managers to gain the relevant Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card upon completion of the CITB Health, Safety & environment "touch screen" test.
At the end of the course you will have an understanding of:
- health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors
- your supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely
- risk assessments and the need for method statements
- effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings
- monitoring site activities effectively
- timely intervention when bad practice is identified
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years. To remain certified in this area, you will need to take a refresher course before the expiry date on your certificate, otherwise the full course will need to be retaken.
Please note: all delegates are required to produce photographic identification when attending all CITB courses. Suitable forms of identification are a valid passport, driving licence (including provisional) or UK cards.
